Welcome to my blog. My husband thinks blog stands for Better Look Out Girl. I don't know where the term originated but I think it's a mix of education, entertainment and perhaps therapy for me. This is exciting and making nervous at the same time. I am excited about writing a blog and hope to provide you with some interesting information about the Real Estate market in the Twin Cities. I enjoy writing and love the Twin Cities and this blog I think will be a good way for me to combine those two things.
First thought is that there are some cute shops in Lakeville that I want to get back to visit. As I was driving home from the The Taste of Lakeville in Lakeville, MN, which was hosted by the Lakeville Rotary Club, I drove past a store called Porch. From the street, it looked like there was some fun housewares there in the store. It was a fun night out with some of my Realtor friends from the office where we sampled some wine and taste tested different restaurants from the area. The Steak Sandwich from Enjoy! and the Pulled Pork from the Brackett's Crossing Country Club were my favorites. Although it was cold and a little windy, the music from The Dweebs and my goofy friends helped make up for it. At least it wasn't raining.
Now you may be wondering what does this have to do with Real Estate. I think this festival in Lakeville where many people know each other demonstrates the small town feel that you get in the suburbs. Some people live in the suburbs for different reasons. Everything from the schools for their children, to being away from the busy big cities to lower crime or it's just what they're comfortable with. There is an interesting trend with people migrating back to the city. This can be for reasons that range from going back to their roots, to wanting to be closer to culture and ethnic restaurants to being closer to work. I am personally one of those statistics. I grew up in St. Paul in the Merriam Park neighborhood, I have lived for the last 5 years in a southwest suburb and now moving back to the city. Like I told my husband, I can't help it, I'm a city girl.
